Caution on Typhoons Approaching (June 26, 2026)

The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Japan urges all Kuwaiti citizens residing in or visiting Japan to exercise the utmost caution following the warning issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency regarding the potential impact of Typhoon Mekkhala (Typhoon No. 7) and Typhoon Higos (Typhoon No. 8) over 27–28 June 2026.

The typhoons are expected to affect wide areas of Japan, particularly the regions extending from Kyushu in the south to the Kanto region, including Tokyo, bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, high waves, and disruptions to transportation services, including the cancellation of some flights.

The Embassy advises all Kuwaiti citizens in Japan to closely monitor official weather updates, strictly follow the instructions issued by the Japanese authorities, avoid coastal areas, rivers, flood-prone locations, and areas at risk of landslides, and contact the Embassy immediately in case of any emergency using the following numbers:
